Workshop Overview : RNA-Seq revolutionizes the study of the transcriptome, this workshop offers an introduction to the bioinformatics analysis of RNA-seq data using a global workflow under command line and under Galaxy. One of the objectives of the workshop is to enable participants to make informed decisions about how to respond to specific research questions they might face in the future.

Syllabus & tools : Participants will learn how to process and analyze RNA-seq data, from pre-processing, alignment, transcription assembly, differential expression to the discovery of variants. The course will take the form of talks as well as practicals.

Prerequisites: (Preferable but not necessary)

• Some basics in molecular biology.
• Some basics in Linux.
• Some basics in R.
